Welcoming all Pearson College employees to the PEA

Dear PEA members, 

We are excited to share that on December 12, the BC Labour Relations Board approved the expansion of the PEA’s certification at Pearson College to include all employees; teachers there first joined the PEA in 2023. 

Pearson College is a two-year pre-university school in Metchosin on Vancouver Island, and part of the United World Colleges movement. The newly certified group includes houseparents, nurses, drivers, finance assistants, maintenance technicians, IT support, counsellors, seafront activities coordinators, administrative assistants, a communications coordinator, operations coordinators, and others. They joined after an overwhelming majority signed membership cards, strengthening their protections and increasing bargaining power for the entire membership.
