Professionals from the BC Society for Policy Solutions Join the PEA
Dear PEA members,
We are excited to announce that the PEA is the new bargaining agent for the professionals at the BC Society for Policy Solutions (BCSPS). This makes BCSPS the thirteenth chapter in our growing union.
The professionals at BCSPS bring a wealth of expertise in advancing progressive policy solutions that are rooted in BC communities. They have been instrumental in developing policies that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion.
BCSPS was founded by individuals from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives – BC Office (CCPA-BC), which closed in early 2025. These professionals are working to ensure that progressive policy research and advocacy in BC remains locally driven, informed, and funded. The PEA welcomes these new members and stands with them in their continued success.
If you’ve attended a PEA conference or webinar, you may recall guest speakers like economists Iglika Ivanova and Alex Hemingway, who now work with BCSPS. BC unions, including the PEA, have long supported this important work.
If you’re interested in learning more about the work of these new PEA members, you can register for an upcoming free webinar they are hosting on the BC Budget.
