Pearson College Chapter Updates
Dear PEA members,
I want to introduce myself and give a few chapter updates.
My name is Rhiannon Bray. I’m your Labour Relation Officer and will be your point of contact at the PEA. I have been a Labour Relations Officer for 16 years. Currently my other chapters include Law Society of British Columbia, Legal Aid of British Columbia, British Columbia Family Maintenance Agency, St. Margaret’s School and Okanagan Regional Library. I’m looking forward to getting to know the members at Pearson and advocating on your behalf. Brett Harper and I will be holding an in-person meeting at the end of term. Details to follow.
Collective agreement update
The final draft of the collective agreement will be available for the membership after the school reviews the union’s draft. There seems to be some confusion about whether the terms of the collective agreement are in effect. The answer is yes, the terms became effective upon ratification of the Memorandum of Settlement by both parties. This means all of the provisions the parties agreed to at bargaining are in place. Please refer to this link to review the MOS until the collective agreement is finalized and posted. https://pea.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/PEA-PC_COMPLETE_MOS_2025.pdf
Pay increases and retro-pay
The union is waiting to hear back from the employer regarding pay increases and retro-pay. We know this is important to the membership and have encouraged the employer to resolve this as soon as possible. We will be monitoring this to ensure there are no lengthy delays and will keep you updated via email.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I’m here to support you.
In solidarity,
Rhiannon Bray
