ORL Tentative Agreement

Your bargaining committee met with the employer for an additional two days of bargaining on February 8 and 9 after three days in late 2020. We have reached a tentative agreement.

We will present the complete deal at a membership meeting on Thursday, February 18 at noon.

Some highlights of the deal include:

1.95% on the 1st of January, 2021
2% on the 1st of January, 2022
2% on the 1st of January 2023

Benefit improvements to include counselling coverage (registered clinical counsellor, registered clinical psychologist, recognized social worker). This is in addition to your employee assistance program.

Language on bereavement leave and family illness leave has been updated, and the agreement includes language to update the collective agreement to reflect recent changes to employment standards, as well as other housekeeping changes.

The tentative agreement includes language enabling members to request working from home arrangements and modified work weeks, as well as new language to support members around excessive workload. There is also a letter of understanding to address the joint job evaluation process.
