Employer requests May 15 layoff/FTE reduction extension

Dear PEA members,

The employer requested an extension to the May 15th layoff and FTE reduction date as indicated in the collective agreement. Parties have agreed to extend the date to May 22nd.

Article 22.01 g)
SMS agrees to notify tutorial staff who are to be laid off by May 15 of the preceding school year, if the lay-off is to be effective at the start of the next school year and to give two (2) months’ notice in all other circumstances.
