Support During Traumatic Events

Dear PEA members,

Many of you may be aware of the tragic events that occurred yesterday in Tumbler Ridge, a community in northern British Columbia. Incidents like this can affect people in different ways. While such events are thankfully rare in Canada, the fact that this tragedy happened in a BC school may make it feel especially close to home, particularly for our members working in education.

If you feel it would be helpful, we encourage you to make use of the support available through your Employee Assistance Program. Connecting with a trusted colleague, friend, or family member can also provide comfort and help in processing the impact of this event.

Please remember that you are always welcome to reach out to your union. We care deeply about our members and your well-being.

Sincerely,

Bev Waterfield and Rhiannon Bray
