Law Society Interim Bargaining Committee Nomination Form 2026

Now that you are PEA members, the union needs to shift to interim bargaining. This process will ensure that new PEA members at the Law Society have access to the collective agreement. This is a call for members who are interested in serving on the Interim Bargaining Committee.

The Interim Bargaining Committee will represent newly-joined members of the Law Society chapter at the bargaining table. It will be made up of five members (with up to two alternates). Alternates ensure that the committee can operate in the event of illness, resignation, etc.

The time commitment for members of the Bargaining Committee is significant. Meetings may take place virtually or in person in Vancouver. Parties will meet to confirm where the collective agreement applies and where new language needs to be developed.

Committee members will develop the membership bargaining survey, attend bargaining training, assist in developing proposals, meet with representatives of the employer, report back to members on the progress of the committee and make recommendations for action.
